Chicken price reaches Rs 364 per kg in Lahore
LAHORE – The chicken price witnessed an increase of Rs 10 per kg on sunday, increasing the price to Rs 364 per kg in Lahore.
The prices of vegetables have also gone beyond the reach of common man up due to the inflation. An increase has been witnessed in the prices of several vegetables, including tomato, green chili, onion and potatoes.
People told 92 News that tomatoes are being sold at Rs 60 per kg, onion at Rs 26 per kg. Banana is being sold at Rs 160 per dozen. Moreover, dates are being sold at Rs 225 per kg and strawberry are available at Rs 140.
On the other hand, the vegetable vendors say that since prices were high at the wholesale market, they were forced to sell at higher rates too.
Commonly, the prices of vegetables and fruits have gone sky-high in the holy month of Ramazan and on the eve of Eid. The meat was already beyond the reach of the common man and now the prices of vegetables and fruits have made them inaccessible. They complained that there was no mechanism to nab the profiteers who were selling daily-use items at high rates.
