Scholars urged to promote harmony

QUETTA: Deputy Commissioner Major (retd) Ilyas Kabzai said that the role of scholars and other communities is vital for the promotion of tolerance and religious harmony.
He was addressing a high level meeting to review overall situation of the district. SP Noor Mohammad Barich, FC 86 Wing Commander, and Assistant Commissioner Mastung Atta Muneem were present on the occasion.
He said Islam does not allow sectarianism or racism, but Islam emphasizes humanity, peace and brotherhood.
“Islam is a great religion and it has given us a complete code of conduct.” Islam teaches brotherhood, unity, mutual relations, respect for each other, religious freedom and does not allow us to spread religious hatred and sectarianism in the society.
He said that religious scholars should emphasize on harmony during mosques and madrassas and in Friday sermons they should urge people in this regard. They should shun hatred, prejudice, sectarianism and racism, which are teachings of Islam. People should be made comfortable and everyone should play their role to end evil and intolerance form the society.
He said that Allah has clearly said in the Holy Quran that you are a good Ummah created to teach goodness and keep people away from evil.
Khatib of Central Jamia Masjid Mufti Ghulam Mustafa, Maulana Emadullah Saeed-ur-Rehman Farooqi, Maulvi Nadeem, Samson Masih, Maharaj Jagdish Kumar, Vijay Kumar, and others were present in the meeting.
