Staff Report

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Gulzar Ahmad on Thursday said that governance has become very complicated, costly and difficult.
The government is not doing the small and ordinary things it should be doing while the courts are being burdened because the government is not fulfilling its responsibilities.
He went on to add that the people are facing difficult situations and problems. Addressing the gathering, former chief justice Asif Saeed Khosa said that the opposition always accuses the government of corruption. When the opposition enters the government, the same allegations are leveled against them. The government and the opposition jointly appoint the heads of NAB and Election Commission. How can it be that without transparency and accountability no government can function peacefully. Asif Saeed Khosa added that if there is a personal case against a politician then the whole party comes to the defense. Loyalty to the community and violation of merit has become a problem of our country.
