Pakistan elected International Development Law Organization president

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan achieved a big success at the diplomatic level after it was elected president of the International Development Law Organization (IDLO) for a term of three years.

Pakistan will assume the office from January 2021. Pakistan Ambassador to Italy Johar Saleem will represent the country at the ILDO.

Talking to the media, Johar Saleem said that the election of Pakistan as president is a good news and a defeat of India at the diplomatic level. “We are thankful to the IDLO members for expressing confidence in Pakistan,” he said.

IDLO is the only global intergovernmental organization exclusively devoted to promoting the rule of law and sustainable development. It is working in more than 90 countries around the world with various legal systems. Its network includes thousands of trusted experts, alumni and partners. Established as an intergovernmental organization in 1988, IDLO has had United Nations Observer Status since 2001.
