Governor emphasizes need for modern sports infrastructure

Staff Report Quetta: Governor Balochistan Jafar Khan Mandokhel highlighted the pressing need for modern sports infrastructure in Balochistan, particularly in Quetta, to develop sports and athletes. He stressed formulating a comprehensive development strategy to harness local talent and showcase Pakistan and Balochistan positively. Mandokhel emphasized providing international-standard sports facilities to utilize Baloch athletes’ potential and enhance Pakistan’s global sports reputation. He expressed these views at the Governor Trophy Sprint Canoeing National Championship, organized by Hayatullah Khan Durrani Sports Academy at Quetta’s Hana Lake. Notable attendees included Hayatullah Khan Durrani, Provincial Secretary Sports Tariq Qamar Baloch, Principal Secretary to Governor Hashim Khan Ghilzai, and athletes from Pakistan Navy, Railways, and Police Departments. The championship featured impressive rowing competitions, earning applause from spectators. Mandokhel praised Hayatullah Durrani Water Sports Academy’s efforts in organizing rowing competitions on national days for 40 years. He acknowledged the academy’s role in nurturing talented players who brought glory to Pakistan and Balochistan. The governor distributed certificates to outstanding performers in the rowing competitions, named after him. This recognition aims to encourage athletes and promote sports development in Balochistan. Mandokhel’s vision focuses on empowering local talent, enhancing Pakistan’s sports reputation, and developing modern infrastructure.
